Sean Fellows Files Declaration of Candidacy

Fellows has been aggressively campaigning for the now open Assembly District 29 seat and has set and exceeded internal goals on all fronts of the campaign.  One of Sean's most impressive recent benchmarks was to raise over $100,000 in campaign contributions prior to the beginning of the filing period -- a likely record pace of fundraising for a non-incumbent this early in the election cycle and a goal that Fellows has not only met but exceeded.

"I’m extremely pleased with the widespread level of support I’ve received from all areas of the community.  It’s been a humbling experience to have so many diverse people put their trust in me and my campaign.  I’ll continue to work hard going forward and ensure their faith is well placed."

Other goals that Fellows has recently surpassed relate to voter contact.  Sean has walked 10 precincts already in this campaign and is ahead of his own timetable for talking to the voters in the district.  District 29 is sizeable and so a steady dedication to reaching voters one-on-one is viewed as critical.  Sean has also surpassed his goal for the number of volunteers recruited and number of voters reached.

Sean Fellows was joined at the County Elections Department by his wife, Katie, and longtime family friend and mentor Joe W. Brown.

"Walking the 29th Assembly District with Sean Fellows"

By:  Joseph Cooper, PolitickerNV.com

"Henderson- Although it's only mid-March, Sean Fellows is already knocking on doors in Assembly District 29, hoping to build the momentum to unseat Democratic Assemblywoman Susan Gerhardt come Nov. 4.

Fellows, a 27-year-old Air Force Reserve Captain, is considered one of the few bright spots for Nevada Republicans in an otherwise troubling year.  His campaign strategy relies on direct voter contact to build name recognition and hopefully peel away enough votes in his mildly Democratic district to lead him to an upset victory in the fall.  That direct voter contact centers on knocking on doors, practicing the old-school retail politics with modern technology and a personal touch.

PolitickerNV.com accompanied Fellows on an early afternoon walk of one of the district's precincts Thursday to see his brand of retail politics in action and get an idea of his burgeoning campaign..."  Read full story here.

Decision Deflates Nevada Supporters

Sean Fellows reports strong fundraising efforts in first C & E Report

Liberty Watch "2008 Hot& Not List"

Liberty Watch pinpoints Sean Fellows,
Nevada Assembly candidate on its "2008 Hot List"

"This first time candidate for elective office and distinguished U.S. Air Force veteran/reservist has created a lot of buzz early in the 2008 election cycle. The cliché surrounding Fellows that is routinely heard is: “He’s doing everything right.” This is highly uncommon praise for a GOP Assembly candidate in recent years.

Fellows is opposing Democrat Susan Gerhardt in Henderson’s AD 29 following her second unbelievable term in Carson City. Democrats presently enjoy an approximately 400 edge in the district — a number certainly within range of a well-funded, well-run campaign with a young, energetic and intelligent candidate."

"Nevada Republicans have lined up behind Sean Fellows as a star of their effort to retake majority control of the Nevada Assembly. He'll face Democrat Susan Gerhardt in the 29th district.

Fellows, a 27-year-old Air Force Reserve Captain, was the guest of honor recently at a
Las Vegas Country Club fundraiser that was hosted by no less than thirteen of Nevada’s twenty-four Republican legislators as well as Gov. Jim Gibbons, Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki and state GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden..."  Read full story here.

"Two perpetually competitive seats will be contested as usual. In Henderson's District 29, Democrat Susan Gerhardt will seek re-election to a third term.

The 50-year-old former police officer will be challenged by Sean Fellows, a military veteran who has started campaigning in earnest, holding a fundraiser headlined by practically the entire Republican establishment.

"He's doing everything right," said Assembly Minority Leader Heidi Gansert, R-Reno. "We wish we could duplicate him."

Democrats have an edge of less than 400 voters in the district, which is home to 4,100 nonpartisans in addition to Political Notebook's official neighborhood bar, pizzeria and Trader Joe's."  Read full story here.
